In Tanzania, there are 1,900 Ethiopians in prisons
Tanzania's Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Yusuf Joseph, told BBC News that 554 Ethiopians were preparing to return home in Tanzania.
More than 300 of these inmates are located in Tangang, about 354 kilometers from the capital Dar es Salaam.
He said the 250 would need three weeks to travel to Tanzania's capital, the capital of Tanzania.
Ambassador Jonas Joseph told the BBC that more than 1,900 Ethiopians were in eight prisons in Tanzania.
The refugees say they are crossing into South Africa, with no complete travel documents.
Ambassador Jonas added that the embassy was willing to negotiate with the president of Tanzania and the foreign minister and leave the remaining prisoners.
But he says he wants to talk to the senior government of the government around the prisoners.
According to Ambassador Yonas, this year, more than 230 Ethiopians returned to the country.
Some of the emigrants living in exile have completed their term of imprisonment, most of whom have been released from jail in connection with the state of Tanzania.
